I felt the urge to do something different and impulsive today. So I dyed my hair.
Blonde.
Not Platinum blonde or bleach blonde or anything crazy like that. But definitely quite a bit lighter than my hair has been in probably 15 years.
It's fun. I like it. I feel good about myself.
Maybe a new hair color is just what I need to lift any remaining fog from my funk. I hope so.
Great! Have fun.
ReplyDeleteI also had an urge to do something different & impulsive in June. I cut my hair really short and I like it.
I love your new hair! It's a great style for you!
DeleteWoohoo! I'm hoping you feel fab. I'm also hoping that one day we'll see pictures.
ReplyDeleteThere won't be any pictures on the blog (since I try to keep it at least a little bit anonymous), but maybe I'll surprise you and put something on facebook. :)
DeleteNothing breaks a funk like something new. May the blonde hair work its magic.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Probably the best part is that it was under $20 because I used box dye from Kmart, which is perfect for my frugal/cheap self!
DeleteI love lightening my hair. I've tried going darker so I don't have to worry about roots and it's miserable. Going a bit blonde (I am strawberry) instantly makes me feel better. They say always stay a couple of shades lighter than your real shade as you get older, to stay looking younger (not suggesting you're old or anything). I've started using Olia instead of Excellence; I was sceptical but it does seem to be better condition now. Sorry not sure why I'm going into so much detail.
ReplyDeleteThe last few times I've dyed it I've gone darker/redder (I'm a natural boring brown) and just wasn't feeling it, but lighter does sort of make me feel a little younger. In fact, I'm wishing now that I'd gone another two or three shades lighter. I'll have to look into the Olia stuff because I used the excellence creme this time (and have the past few times).
DeleteI am happy to read this!
ReplyDeleteSometimes these things make a big difference. I recently even managed to feel a lot better by just painting my toe nails ;-).
Ohhh, maybe I'll try that next! I'm ashamed to admit that my feet aren't yet in summer sandal shape. Yes, I know it's July. :)
